REMEMBRANCE DAY 2012
This year there was a bigger turn-out than ever despite a heavy thunderstorn which led us to seek refuge in the stalls of the abandoned farmhouse next to the cemetery. The service was conducted by the Rev. Mary Styles from Rome, assisted by Hamish Robertson. Paul Nelson read the roll call. Mary's husband's uncle, Trooper William Garbutt of the Warwickshire Yeomanry. is buried in the cemetery.
After the service the rain slacked off slightly - enough to allow us to lay the wreath on the monument and the individual flowers and crosses on the graves of those whose families or friends had requested us to do so.
